What parts from '99 would you use?

If you could, or already have, which 99 parts would you retrofit on a 93 FD?
I already have the hood.

I personally like the 99 front end with the OEM skirts and the 93-95 spoiler. I think it flows much better IMO even though it isn't functional.

And that hood never came on a 99 spec FD. No vented hood ever came on an OEM FD IIRC. Isnt that a mazdaspeed or knight sports hood? Can't remember exactly what type it is.

My G/F likes the '99 wing and turn signals more than the 93-95 models'. I'm sorta undecided.

BTW, sweet car.

Pretty much everything.

But the cost vs. value is very steep. So unless I cook my turbos and go with 99 specs or whichever ones have abradable seals, it aint' happening. The larger air openings in the 99 spec front are also nice for tracking the car, but I'm not sure how many parts you have to replace in order to get the ducting sealed up like it should be.

Since you mention a '99, I'd love to see someone retrofit the mysterious "black box" onto an earlier series 3rd gen (For those who are unfamiliar w/ it, mazda redid/simplified the vacuum hoses on the 99s, all of 'em contained in this little black box hehe. See this thread for more info: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ight=black+box)

PS: Mike, 7_rocket is correct. That's a Mazdaspeed hood, not an OEM 99spec hood. They were all unvented. You may want to consider some 17" 99spec wheels too (Hit me up if you're interested...)

Beat me to it. Looks like way too much work though.

And I do love the '99 spec 17" wheels, but too rich for my blood when I can get a new set of 17x9 5zigen FN01R-C's for less than a CLEAN set of the '99 spec'ers.

SSR GT 2 18" wheels are very light and have just enough edge.

Not if you just swap a complete longblock though, right?

Why...how much do the 5zigen wheels go for? And they're not rare though, now are they?

Please see this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/99-parts-fishe-470491/ Hopefully I'll be able to order you pretty much any part from Mazda Japan very soon...

I guess you could, but you'd also need an updated ECU and harness.

A little over 800 for a set of 17x9's, you could probably find a cheaper deal if you searched or used an ebay vendor. I just used them as an example of an affordable, lightweight, wider, attractive wheel.

And no, they aren't rare, which is why I keep my eye open for a good deal on the OEM wheels. Although my wallet needs a break for a while lol.

Anyway, sorry I took this a bit offtopic.

Your "Want list" is pretty much exclusively expensive items lol. I get some of that stuff in every now and then, and the prices aren't pretty.
