What is normal oil pressure reading at idle, engine warm?

just bought a 94 last week, now oil pressure is reading around 10 pounds at 750 rpms. cleaned connector on sending unit, cleaned sending unit... I have a 90 nonturbo which reads around 30 lbs at idle...does the warning light indicate low level or low pressure or both...will it indicate low pressure only.....
thanks

I think that is normal but when u r driving that is most important I notice today in the warmth temp mine was below 60 lbs almost to 25-30 lbs when driving at 60-65 on the highway,I got sacred and I reve up the engine and it went up but I do have a new sending unit that's close to a 3 years old so it's not my sending unit I think it all depend on the temp outside and how hard u drive. I hope this help u. khris

That sensor isnt a 100%, plus it matters on what oil you are running. I dont know exactly how its measured in the states, but you should have a stock gauge, and at idle it should be on or above the first big mark. Our is 2kg or 20kg some **** like that, so maybe its 20lbs. Also on driving is shows 6kg or 60kg, but some times at 8kg or 80kg, that depends on weather and oil too.

thanks guys...the first mark on the gauge in the states is 30 lbs....I just changed the oil but put in 10w30 which is what my manual recommends...anyway I know if I use a heavier weight the pressure will go up... I'm thinking of getting a new sending unit but didn't want to purchase on if 10 lbs is normal...but I'm pretty certain when I first drove this car it was reading aroun 30

I'm using an Autometer mechanical gauge. At idle after warmup, it's about 25-30psi. Cruising is about 75psi. When I go WOT about 100psi. The stock gauge is crap.
