What mods come next?

Check out my sig...ideally for me my next wave of mods would be M2 medium/large IC, fuel pump, 1200cc secondaries, full pulley set.
BUT i need 4 tires (about $650 for 4 S-02s) and a clutch (ACT street/strip $480 at rx7store) so thats over $1100 already.
So to save $$$ what do you think is most important? My injectors already have touched 90% duty once or twice and thats not good. But we all know how crappy the stock IC is...
Ideas? Cheaper tires? I do autox so I'd rather not do that.
Also I already have a turbo timer and J&S that just need to be put in.
Input appreciated!

1. If you have a bad clutch that is slipping I would replace that first. You can't drive your car like that.

2. If your tries are bald and drycracked you need to replace them. If you buy cheap tires your car will feel cheap in the turns.

3. Before you start adding more boost and cooler air from an intercooler you will need a better fuel pump to keep the engine from leaning out.

4. Get an intercooler. If you plan on running over 12psi of boost then..

5. Get the injectors. This will require a good standalone computer to control properly. If you don't have the money for the computer right away, ditch the injectors for now and get a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. Even though this will not cure all of your fuel needs it will make the engine more safe at 12psi

definitely getting the tires + clutch, i totally agree with that.
but is it safe to run 10-12 lbs with stock injectors/fuel pump?
i mentioned the high duty, it kinda worries me. basically should i do the fuel system or the IC first i guess. both the stock ic and stock fuel system could use some help so i'd like to do something as soon as $$$ permits...
thanks for idea!

I would upgrade your injectors. At least the secondaries. And put in a highflow replacement pump like the one Jason sells or get the one from RP that should help out your fuel delivery problems.

I think that tires make the biggest difference of any mod, particularly if you are autocrossing or taking it to the track. Try some R compound tires... you won't believe the difference, even on the street. I have a set of wheels (see my sig) that have R compound Yokohamas on them. Even heat cycled they stick so much better than my "winter" Bridgestone RE71s that I think the RE's are a joke I play on my car sometimes. The launching power and lateral performance of an R compound tire lets you use the potential your car ALREADY has. Sure, they wear out faster but they are cheaper. Check out the Toyo RA1's for stock size rims.

I've heard the stock injectors and pump are fine for the stock turbos at 12psi. That's what I'm using (with an IC though).

Scott

p.s. why is your ACT clutch slipping? Is it old - was it installed properly - are you doing Brooks Weisblat 7000rpm clutch drops? I'm assuming you'll fix it first and you are not asking everyone how you should make your car faster when your cluch is still messed up.

I have ran 12 psi on stock injectors with plenty of fuel safety. The highest A/F ratio I recieved was 12.2. I had a pettit upgraded computer and cosmo fuel pump and ASP large intercooler. If you have a stock computer you might be taking a chance and you would be pushing your luck adding an aftermartket intercooler. The intercooler will give your engine cooler air, but rember that cooler air has more oxygen and needs more fuel; thus leaning out your engine. I would get a fuel pump before i got an intercooler. Adding larger injectors with out controlling their duty cycle in some sort of way would provide too much fuel and you would loose more power that gain from it all. You can safely run 12 psi With a stock computer but you need to get a rising rate fuel pressure regulator with the pump. The best way would be to get an upgraded computer or a standalon unit.

if you check the sig you see i've already got a power fc...

sounds like the safe way to go is injectors/pump before IC, and will probably be the way i go. what are good injectors, and a price? i was thinking 1200cc but i see only 1300cc at the rx7store...

Coulthard Fan- thats the strange thing! the clutch was installed with the engine a little over a year ago. this was BEFORE i bought the car. the seller says its ACT, the mechanic who installed it thought bonez, and no one can find records. the car was dragged and autoxed but still...i first noticed it when i had the car dyno'd and it let go at 270rwhp on the dyno.
Yeah the clutch is before mods, thats why i have the issue of deciding between cooler air and more fuel -after paying for clutch and tires the 'mod fund' isn't what it used to be!

thanks for the useful info guys!
