What is this hose?

Hey everyone,
Need some help, can anyone tell me about the hose in the picture with the red arrow pointing to it?

This may seem like a dumb question, but i cant find any reference to this hose in the FSM. What is its purpose? How does it behave (ie, direction of airflow)? Any info at all would be helpful. Thanks.

Nathan

it sucks air I believe, if you look at the Pettit intake that hose has an add on that goes straight down to draw cool fresh air in. not 100% because im super tired and only half paying attention.

ACV relief hose. It's basically similar to a blow-off line for the airpump.

You should put back the battery cover before battery "cooks" from the radiator fans underneath blowing hot air! Looks like stock where air is funneled through ducts from the intercooler duct to the AC dryer and battery.

Trust me, I cooked two batteries already.

Haha, the AST has been replaced, that picture was taken when i first got the car, I only used it because it was the best shot I had of that hose. As for the battery cover, I didn't even know there ever was one; the car was like you see it when I got it. I plan on doing a relocation to the rear passenger bin this fall so that should take care of that.

Because i removed my stock intake air box to install the apexi power intake and that hose wasnt even connected to anything .. and it just ended up in attick.. does any one know what it does? or used to? Oh and uh sorry for stealing ur picture Laguna..

that would be the "hose to nowhere" it isnt supposed to connect to anything. IIRC in JDM cars it connects to a charcoal filter or something

Its the 'continuation of the first hose you asked about----air relieved from the ACV goes into a silencer in the airbox then exits through this hose to atmosphere, very quietly!

sorry to bump an old thread, but I just removed my air pump and i thought i was blocking off the hose line under the UIM that went to the air pump, but i in fact blocked off the hose in question. Can i leave this blocked off and just go back and block off the other hose as well? Or do they both need to be open despite the air pump not being there anymore?
