Question What is this hose for??

When I was taking things apart to fix my coolant leak, I found a loose hose that seems to lead to nowhere? I think one end of it is connected to the intake manifold, and the other end connectes to nothing. It's just flopping around and I dont know where it supposed to go to, I think its a vaccum hose? heres 2 pictures of it. Anybody who can help me figure this out, id really appreciate it

It goes to the pressure chamber (as seen in top right corner of second pic) nipple (the nipple facing the front of the car) then from there it goes to the turbo control actuator located on the bottom of the turbo manifold.

but how does it hook up to the pressure chamber if I already have two hoses hooked up to the pressure chamber? there are only 2 nipples on mine and they already have hoses hooked up to them, are there supposed to be 3 nipples?

Ok, I have come to a conclusion here is a diagram showing the "Pressure Chamber" the loose vaccum hose I found which wasnt connected, is supposed to be connected to the pressure chamber ( thanks Internal Comsucktion Engi). The check valve broke into pieces when I moved it. I see it this way... if it wasnt connected before, and the car didn't have any problems ( no check engine light, FULL power, drives smooth), then im just gonna leave it the way it was before. A mechanic may have connected the vaccum hose to another improper vaccum location? Anyway Im just going to leave it the way it was, im not gonna worry about it

Yeah you're prob right....... It's kind of like ridding around with 2 lug nuts on your wheels and 50% of your breaks out for two weeks. I mean I haven't wreaked yet so why fix it huh???? Some people

This is the reason that these cars have such a bad name to begin with. Little miner things like this one with the sequential system go unfixed and just get worse and worse.... Then you'll see this thread started "I hate my car" and "I'm going v8" or "rotaries suck".

I just don't understand the mentality of you kids these days that wont fix anything no matter how small it is. Putting a bigger turbo, nAwz, porting and bling'N wheels are the only "repairs" you'll do.
I'll get off.........

I believe that vac hose vents to atmosphere hence the filter at the end of it. Check the vacuum diagram (search or FAQ)

That is NOT a filter, it is a check valve. So before you give advice maybe YOU should should look in the FAQ's.......

my advise would be to find a good vac diagram & hook everything up corectly, atleast then if u have a problem u atleast know stuff is hooked up properly, if u have a spare hose & the car is stock, then obviously somethings in the wrong place imo

I finished the entire job just last weekend, and everything turned out ok. I find it strange that this hose is not connected, but everything seems to be boosting fine, I just capped it off so that way there are no leaks. It actually feels like the car has more power in the lower RPM range (2500-4000) before the project, I only felt power at 4000 RPM +( almost as if I had a large single turbo?) but now power starts at 2500RPM and pulls hard, and smooth to redline like it should. I did use the diagram and it helped me to get everything back together the way it should be, thanks for the help

lets see. first, if you had to "cap it off", it obviously didnt turn out right. maybe "ok" as you said, but deffinatly not right.

second, power at 4000rpm is what its supposed to give you. it should be quick up to 3000-3500, and fast after 4k. if its completly smooth from 2500-redline, then the sequential system isnt working right.

and last, if you used the diagram, you shouldnt have had to cap anything off. those are the facts deal with them, and since you decided it would be "ok" dont get pissed when you get flamed asking us to troubleshoot your boost problems later.
