WHat the hell did this? JAcked up Twins =P

THought you guys might want a look at this.

My friend got his 7 (94 FD R2) for 8k, he didn't even look at the car... like an idiot.

Well... boost problems, oil leaks, etc etc... anyway... these are what his turbos looked like... well at least his primary, his secondary looked fine. My twins are going into this ride since I Am going single.. there is a pic of his turbo, my turbo, and my single next to the twins. ANyway... some pretty rough ****.... maybe a rock or some crap?

ANyway, enjoy...

He's lucky he got the 7 when I was doing my single conversion. I Just saw a set of twins go on ebay for $800, wtf was up with that? My twins were new and only have 13k on them, so he's getting a smokin deal for $300 =P

looks like a small rock or other piece of debris got sucked into the turbo inlet.

hrmm, his engine seems to be working fine aside from the oil leaks and boost deal, althought it was burning some white smoke from the engine. Once he gets his **** put back together I'll recommend a compression test =P

they get thrown out the exhaust, I suppose they wouldn't even make it up there... unless it flew in through the stock airbox =P I've seen some weird ****... "APEX SEAL BLOWS OFF UIM, AND LOOPS BACK AROUND INTO TURBO INTAKE!" I saw a woman that was 8 feet tall once... anything is possible =P

No, but a nut dropped down the intake would make a handy substitute...

8k for a 94 (in good condition?) isnt bad.
Thats what I wish I would have done now, but a blown motor and a roller, rebuild the motor and start fresh.

I told him to wait... lol. HE failed emissions horribly... when he brought it over to me I looked down at his o2 sensor... the cable was ripped out of it... oh well, I guess we'll figure out the engine deal sooner or later, lol.

The magic apex seal theory as he drove by the grassy knoll.

Most likely it was caused by unfiltered air getting by the filter. The dust and dirt particles eat away at the blades.

And if thats the case, they have been eating away at the rotors/apex seals/housings and the hot side of the turbo. But the blades in the first picture, thats not the case. There was something big in there beating on those blades.

Still- it wasnt that bad of a deal as long as the rest of the car is in good shape. If he would have paid 12-15k for it in that condition, that would be bad.

If by dirt particle you mean an M6 nut, I agree.

Siltation erosion doesn't break pieces off the leading edge. Those appear to be brittle fractures, probably caused by a nut or something nasty.

Both of you are correct. I didn't click on the pic to look. The blades are actually broken...not worn. Maybe a honduh rock was sucked in there.

I had a friend that somehow left a nut in his intake tube then reassembled everything and started off down the road. Needless to say thats exactly what it looked like maybe alittle worse. maybe it was an acorn? anyone else seen that thread
