What gap for BR10EIX iridium

So I picked up these colder plugs, BR10EIX Iridium, and was under the assumption that they should be gapped to .022. However out of the box they are closer to .030.

Does anybody know for sure what I should gap these plugs at?

Also can someone explain what the gapping does specifically?
