what is fd?

In the majority of rorums people use abreviations so they dont have to type out the whole name of a part, car engine, etc. So what does FD mean? I see it alot and still havent figured out what it means.

It's the chassis code. "FD" is in the VIN.

The F and D don't really stand for anything as far as I know. There was a thread about coming up with an acronym: "Financial Drain", etc. But really it is just a chassis code for the 3rd gen RX-7.

He probably didn't search, but if he did he would have found that the term "FD" was rejected because it was too short. He wouldn't have known that he had to use the asterisk, as in "FD*". And even if he did know that he probably wouldn't have selected "search titles only" and the search would've returned about every thread in the 3rd gen. section.

More of a "read the damn FAQ" type question.

Allright, since we are rapidly going down the drain here, lets expand the subject.

FD is for Fookin Deadly.

Is JM Japan Mazda? Are the other codes JT, JH and JN? Oops, where does that leave Mitsubishi??? JZ (Japan Zero).
That's not a bash, just a historic reference.
