YES! in fact i have, come to think of it. I was on boost screwing around on some streets by my house (yes i know very very stupid... havent dont it since) and a motorcycle cop pulls out from nowhere @ night. i was doing 52 in a 25. anyway he pulled me over and i couldnt let the car run because he was pissed, and i wasnt about to argue w/ him. anyway, i shut the car off... a few minutes later while almost shitting myself because he was threatening to take away my licence, tow my car, and throw me in jail.... i noticed the overheat exhaust light go off.... it was on for a few minutes at least while i sat there and gave him a BS story. he ended up letting me go. the light went off after i drove around for a few minutes. im not sure if this had anything to do with it... but i recently pulled my turbos for the first time (83K miles) and the manifold was completely shot w/ a huge crack! i dont know if this one incident had anything to do w/ it (i got the car w/ 70K on it so i dont know the previous history) but i suspect it may have worsened the problem. anyway, make of my story what you will but my light did go off once that i know of and my turbos have a HUGE crack @ 83k. is there a direct correlation..... i have no idea!
PS this is a pic posted by turbojeff.... mine look almost exactly the same. the crack in the middle goes all the way through... and there is a small gap between the cracked surfaces. BTW im still using them... and they seem to be somewhat OK for now. heath
