what does this mean? [spark pics inside]

I just installed a set of new plugs along with the MSD 6a box. I'm currently running Taylor wires. They fit ok I guess, but nowhere near as well as the stock NGK wires. The MSD wires are a total waste of money.

I noticed that with only a couple hundred miles on the plugs, that there is a noticeable difference in "wear" between the front and rear LEADING plugs.

What does this mean? Loose wire connection? Too rich, too lean, too hot, too cold a plug in front/rear? The trailing plugs both look almost identical in terms of color and wear, only the leading plugs show variance.

The most common reason for differences in front/rear rotor running conditions is compression.

More often than not, the rear rotor will be down compared to the front. (eg: 95psi vs 90psi)

Remember that the FD is 12 years old now & if yours is the original 1992 built engine, then its doing well by just being alive.

from the pic it is tough to gague. the rear does look a bit more worn. seeing as how they firy together i would look at the wire and connection between the coil and the front rotor. was the plug tight? did the wire snap when you took it off?

maybe its the taylor wires...looks like no aftermarket wire fits anywhere near as the stock NGKs. At least with those, there is never a question of fit...it literally snaps into the coil and plug. With all others, you never really have 100% confidence of fit.
