what does this belt control?

what all does this belt i have the arrow pointing to control? i am removing my a/c all together. do i need this belt anymore with the a/c no longer in?

I am not sure which is which on the power steering and ac but here is the basic design:

That is a belt tesioner. It does not go to anything.

like rated r1 said it just puts tension on the belt. If you are taking off the ps and the ac then you can get rid of it as well. You can pick up an unorthodox main drive pulley from rx7store that will supposedly give you 16-20 hp (i think) but it only has the groove for 1 belt for the water pump/altenator/air pump belt.

That pulley is attached to the PS/AC bracket and will come off unless you decide to leave the bracket on there for some reason.
