What do you think of this idea...

hey guys and girls, Im new to the RX-7 world, as of now and for the next couple weeks I own a 97 Eclipse turbo, it runs high 12s...only problem is there is something new wrong weekly. I am 18 and a freshman in college and I cant afford these $200 weekly fixes + $300/month car payment, well I can, but I cant afford anything else along with it. Would it be feasible to get a 93+ RX-7 from someone who just replaced the motor/turbos? I mean, do rx-7s break down alot or what? First mods would probably be d/pipe, cat-back, intake and then a fuel computer. Good idea? I also would be performing the reliability mods (turbo timer, gauges, new hoses, air seperator) anyways, would this be a reliable car for me to get or not? next year I will be moving to houston to go to UofH and I wont be able to afford anything but car payment + gas + insurance, so I need something reliable, but fast. I also found a 2000 trans-am ram air in my price range but I would like to stick to turbo import. any advice? and how hard would it be to make my rx-7 run high to mid 12s like the eclipse? thanks alot.

I think you would be better off with a diferent car.. a modified RX-7 will be about as reliable as your DSM.. They are very easy to get in the 12s with a little work.. Insurance an a RX-7 will be more most likley...
