What do you think?

I just recently purchased a 93 r1 5spd, black on black.
The car had 89k. miles on it and the body was mint. I paid 12k for it and it had rims, full custom stereo and bpu'ed do you think it was a good deal...

P.S the engine blew the next day...

Well the engine blowing sucks. It sounded like a good deal. Do you know why it blew?

The car brokedown on the highway and the add coolant light came on. My shop told me the seals were no good.
I don't think the engine was maintained properly. Eventhough I only drove the car for one day I loved every minute of it...

The bad thing about buying a used sports car is not knowing how the previous owner treated it. Especially when the car's moody to begin with...but I still love my baby.

Well, where are you gonna get your rebuild done? are you gonna go single now or stay with the stock twins? usually a reman engine is what, 6k? if so, then thats roughly 18k for a FD with BRAND NEW engine, plus an R1...yeah you got a sweet deal =).

Yeah it's at my shop now I'm doing full rebuild, street port,3mm hurley seals, and pinned engine. I will also get a new clutch,c&r radiator, fuel pump, fpr, and a front mount. I have a question though when getting the street port will I be able to use the petit unlimited ecu that came with the car or do I need to get a stand alone?
Thanks

Even though you had the engine problem, sounds like quite a deal. As Cetchup mentioned, new engine in a clean, modded R1 for 18K is a steal. Post some pics, and make sure you break in the new engine properly!
