LS7 is the wrong motor to chose if you are going to turbo it.

The Attack doesn't use the whole Accord chassis, just the engine, transmission, and a few collateral parts. Of course you could use whatever engine/transmission you want, provided it fits. From what I remember, the biggest problem finding a different engine/tranny combo didn't have to do with size but rather the transaxel configuration because the car essentially uses the engine from a FWD, front-engine-car and flips everything around to make it a RWD, rear-engine design.

NOOOOO i would never use an accord!!! or any honda anything! the whole reason behind this is to have a rotary in it. there is no donor car its a kit that has to be assembled, just the motor and tranny.

I like the GTM also, but it'd pretty much be a track car only. That nose sticks out pretty far, and the car's dropped pretty low. I can't imagine being able to drive it onto an alignment platform, much less over a speedbump or some train tracks.

Not a bad price really. I think I saw a thread somwere were a guy put a rotory in a honda civic. Since you will need a transaxle that is set up like a front whell drive, this might be a good place to start for ideas. Maybe a MR2 trans could work. What are your ideas as far as this goes?

heres a link to some bad *** pics, i am thinking about painting it innocent blue mica like my last fd and slappin some rx-8 seats in it, i think the silver rotor in the headrest would be bad ***.

i hear that after 300 hp the mr2 trannys brake, kicking some ideas around. i think a air water intercooler would be best here. but throw some tranny ideas at me, thanks.

Well, I would most likely look for front wheel drive transmissions, or possibly some mid mounted transmissions.

We have had The Mr2 trans hold up past 300. How about a celica all track drivetrain?

Nissan had a SR front wheel drive. But I don't think they held up to much over 300hp either.

What about a SRT4 trans?

Not sure if the trans on the Lotus Elise is the same as the Celica or not, but it might be an option.

How much HP are you looking to get. I would think with the weight of the car you would not need much.

350 to 450 hp, i think much more would be a hella overkill.

The celica you're talking about has an AWD tranny in it. The elise and '00-'05 celica both aren't really high horsepower applications, which is why they're so light. I don't remember the tolerances of the tranny, but I wouldn't count on it being an option.

I am just brain storming and trying to give him some ideas. I definetly can't vouch for the horspower ratings of transmissions, other than the ones we have tested.

As for the Celica, I mentioned the altrack because of the all wheel drive. That would be sick if you could make that work. But good luck finding one of the drivetrains.

You are correct. They also used it in the MR2 turbo. If you go with this one look for a 93+ turbo trans. They have LSD standard, and better gears. I just got of the phone with the main builder of that MR2. He told me that those trans are nearly bullet proof. There are MR2's pulling wheelies with stock trans. Another reason for the MR2 turbo trans would be that the shifter linkage would be facing the correct direction for a mid mounted trans. The only down fall to this trans is that they are quite heavy, as a result of being so strong. The alltrac trans is similar but has a transfer case for the AWD. Another difference is that the gears are a little shorter.

all wheel drive would be sick, if i could achieve that i would go 20b hands down. but wouldnt the alltrac tranny sit the wrong direction if its in the rear of the car? reverse would go forward and well, you know.
