Square it between the seat belt latch, center console, seat, and you.

went to super autobacs today and picked up a nice card flip-open style cupholder for 2.99. looks cool and you can fit it right on the center console. doesn't have fancy silver or type-r **** on it. just a fold open square that turns into a cupholder.

I don't allow anything but bottled water in my FD. and if it isnt bottled water, then it stays closed, and must be in a seal-able container.

But I am also a ***** about that stuff.

However, the little idea for a small flip open cupholder is pretty good.

rx7 third gen specific cupholder

I use this one that I made from the old Mercedes unit and adapted to our third gens. I used to make them for sale. You can see more here....http://webpages.charter.net/cardmarc/intstial.htm

We have two FD's and the wife insisted on a good holder in her AT (not me). I have a MT so not so needy...but now I have one and can't live without it.

I used to make them for the old RX7 list members.

i saw recently that someone was making a replacement for the storage compartment next to the radio. When opened the drink holders would come out. I think the taurus had something similar. Our Saab has one that flips in and out. Real low profile.

i had them in my 91 and 93 Taurus SHOs. All of the older fords have or were available with them. It was a single DIN peice with a coin tray on top and a cup holder tray on the bottom. More than likely it can be retro-fitted into any DIN slot. I use both my slots so I can't try it myself but someone else should pick one up from a junk yard and try it out. The only crappy part is that the coin tray doesn't like to stay shut all the way after a while.

I found a carbon fiber, black gloss, black matt, or silver single din compartment that has two cup holders in the bottom drawer and either a coin or container drawer on top. I like it and they look a lot better than an empty bin under the radio.

if anyone is interested i can buy them out here and ship them to the states, but i have to go all the way to hiroshima so there has to be enough people to but them

let me know

^didn't you just say to start a group buy for the cup holder by Cardmarc?

I like his cupholder, but I like the idea of using a cleaned up rotor as my cupholder. looks like I have a new small project once I get my car running again.
