what do i do with air pump hose with mid pipe?

i am getting my mid pipe on today and was wondering what to do with the air pump hose and the air pump. should i just plug the hose by the cat, or is it bad for it? i would like to still leave it operational incase i have to put it back on for emmisions test and stuff. thanks for all the help, scott

I had left it unplugged right below the tranny. The air pump will still blow air out that line, so I did not want to take the chance of riuning the pump.

My question is: should you cover it will a mesh type material so crap does not get in there saying it does not blow while you are driving, just at stops?
Thanks

Just take that crap off!You dont even need the smog pump. You can pass emmisions without it.

Cat will help. That doesn't mean you need the air pump.

oooooh, but won't you clog the cat if you are not getting air to it?

Just spoke with Dave at kdr about this. Without the airpump, the cat will clog in about a year, give or take. It won't happen overnight, but still not a good idea to run a cat (high flow or otherwise) without the airpump.

And just for the record (I'm sure this is a little known fact ) you do indeed need at least a high flow to pass emissions. Running your FD with an open exhaust is about the worst thing for the environment possible

Am I making this up or have I seen a midpipe that had a little flange made to bolt up the airpump line? That would be handy as you wouldn't have to tie-wrap it ghetto-style like I did.

you can remove the airpump and thehoses assosiated with it!~
You may/will need a resistor to keep a normal idle though!

Scott, There is the metal pipe that leads to the hose. Take the hose off and nothing will be hanging + you will still have it attached for emissions.
