What to do for another 50 whp

Mustang guys are talking trash about rotary...C5&C6 guys are doing the same so I want more hp & it's so addicting.

Beside reliable mods, performance are intakes, dp, smic, Racing Beat DT, PFC tuned by S. Kan for 12 psi. Never dyno the car due to slipping clutch but Steve said ~280+ whp.

Ok with above mods the clutch is slipping so an ACT SS/SR 9.5 lb flywheel package is here awaiting installation. Along with clutch job I am planning to upgrade the fuel pump to a Supra TT pump, and 1100cc secondary injectors.

Now, with out replacing the stock midpipe to a resonated unit could the 50 whp attainable? If not should the stock midpipe be replace, if so to safely increasing boost to 15 psi the waste gate must be ported, while fuel system be ok. Did I leave out anything?

Correct? of course car will be retune by S. Kan

How about reliability? crossed the threshold? car is not daily driver ~1500 miles/yr.

Thanks all.

quit wasting time and money...if you want to run and stomp the big dogs. Start saving for a single BB turbo set-up.

Get a HKS twin power. It wont give you 50hp but will help you get the best out of those other mods. But its funny because im in a similar situation. Im holding out on dyno because of my clutch slipping and my next stage of mods are Act S/S Clutch, Boost controller, res mp, and 1300cc inj. Gotta fab up a duct for my i/c to tune for 12psi though. If you get a midpipe you can just get some restrictor plates instead of porting your wastegate.

All these mods he is doing are setting up his car for a single if you think about it.

I have almost the same mods as you except I have a resonated MP and a street port. I believe I'm right around 300 RWHP with this set up. I am now more convinced than ever about my HP because just last night I pulled on a new C6.

Right now the thing that is holding you back is fuel (but you know that), Once you get the proper fuel up the boost. Then it's the stock turbos that are the bottle neck. Upgrade turbos and it's whole different ball game.

15 psi will probably yield you around 300-330 RWHP, if you were ported it could be anywhere between 325-350 RWHP. It all depends on how well your car is modded, the condition of the engine and turbos.

Reliability... with more boost you are closing the margin for error. That's all I can say

As for ignition planning to use the Crane Hi R6 box from my cobra. Steve said that should be good.

Montego - did you have to ported the WG with the resonated MP? How about passing emission inspection?

Thanks.

I agree with Montego. I am about the same plus midpipe and MBC set at 14psi and i pulled a C6 dead even. With a better tune, port, and fuel system upgrade I could have beat him. You're not far away. Depending on which Mustang these guys have, I've been smoking 5.0's and 4.6's and the mid 90's cobras since my FD was stock... Only way I'd trip is if they have a supercharged '03+ or a Saleen, maybe. And Steve Kan is a good choice to get the most out of your car with the best results. Also, if you like the twins you might think about the BNR's just to get some more power...

Midpipe = "no passy" emissions if you already have no smog pump or precat... (my personal experience, b4 I had the MP I couldn't pass without those) Unless you tune your PFC to have virtually no fuel in the testing areas, from what I have read others are doing this. I haven't ported my WG and I don't get any creep except for on very cool nights I might see 15 or 16 psi, but it's usually a steady 14psi.
