Hi guys, while installing my BOP kit a freaking thing broke, but I don't know what that thing is! Is it an actuator? Anyways I bet many of you know what that part is and if possible what's the part #. I also broke a little white/green thing on a vacuum line with an arrow on it, is this some kind of check valve?

It looks to me like its the double throttle control solenoid. Take a look at the vacuum diagrams in the FAQ's to double check.

 

No idea what a BOP is but that does look like a solenoid.

What kind of BOP are you doing that you are screwing around in the rats nest?

 

+1 for the double throttle control solenoid. If you confirm that its the DT solenoid using a vacuum diagram you can just delete the DT instead of paying to replace it. DT removal writeup here: http://www.rx7.org/Robinette/double_throttle.htm

The system is in place to stop people from going WOT when the engine is ice cold. So if you can refrain from flooring it when the engine isn't warmed up, then you don't need it.

The white/green thing is indeed a check valve. One of the guys on here used to sell viton check valves that should last longer then the OEM ones, do a search.

 

haha thanks a bunch guys! I guess it's my lucky day! I took a look at the vacuum diagram just after posting and what you guys said is exactly what i suspected.

I'm doing block-off plates mod atm and just deleted the DT : )
