FD Radiator Fan Motor Rebuild

One of the radiator fan motors on my FD is not spinning at full speed.

Has anyone had one of these rebuilt?

If so, what did it cost?

Where did you send it?

A new fan motor (N3A1-15-150) from Mazda Motorsports is 172.00

If it could be rebuilt for half of that or less, it would be worthwhile.

I keep a spare set in the parts bin. I've burned out 3 fans over the last 5-6 years when I was running a FMIC. Haven't burned out any since I switched to a Vmount since the fans don't run as often (car runs cooler).

I also have a vmount.

Fritz was going to sell me a fan for $50, but he discovered they didn't spin freely.

If I can locate a place that will rebuild them at a reasonable cost, I will buy the bad ones and have them rebuilt.

Wanna sell me one of yours?

Not right now. I'll probably need it the day after I sell it. It seems that as long as a keep a spare, they don't fail.

All of the ones that I have burned out went out in a big way. Seized electric motor with nasty smelling electrical burnout. Nasty.

Ok, well, back to the topic at hand.

Anyone know of a good place to have the fan motor rebuilt?

Just ordered a new fan.

It would still be good to know where to get radiator fan motors rebuilt.

I googled a bit and contacted http://www.emotorstore.com.

They replied that they do not work on automotive motors.

Other likely looking places also appear to be industrial only.
