What is this and did it burn up?
Just got a call from my dad telling me that this little module by the accelerator pedal burned up (to include its wires) and now the cat doesn't want to shut off on its own...breathe...

Shitty part is I'm in Japan and the car is in Miami...

Let me know if you guys can identify this and let me know what the best course of action should be... Thanks in advance!

Could you draw a circle around the component in question? Maybe using paint or something? It looks very busy in the photos..

Did you read what is on the label for that box pictured? From me just reading it, orange and blue connectors in the steering wheel would be for airbag. I would assume it's the airbag control module.

If it's truly burnt, I would disconnect the battery, pull off the airbag and disconnect the wiring harness to it before something triggers the bag to pop.

That's definitely the airbag control module. Although, why it's causing the car to not shutdown is unknown to me. It's a pretty independent system... Methinks the problem runs deeper
