What could cause ecu to seem like its dead when its not?

So basically im trying to get my car started which became a nightmare shortly after. right now it seems as if my ecu is dead which i highly doubt it is.

basically i was testing out my old map sensor to check if that was the cause of the motor not starting and when i did that some how it seems like my ecu is dead. when im cranking it doesnt seem like the ecu is getting power. I checked for spark and nothing. i opened the ecu to see if it was "fried" and looks mint.

I dont know if im forgetting anything so im trying to trouble shoot everything i can. Ideally i should try another ecu but i dont have one at the moment.

So currently, when i crank the motor it sounds like the motor is just turning over and no fuel or spark or anything the ecu controls is working.
Things ive checked.
30A EGI fuse is good
yellow relay is good (by good i mean i switched it with the fuel pump relay and same thing happens) could is it possible both are bad? even tho they both click.....
My friend checked and the ecu is getting power. He thinks it maybe a loose wire which could be a possibility as i rewired the whole car. Does anyone know which one to check for?

also the commander isnt reading anything...
any ideas or if you can point me in the right direction would be a huge help as im running out of ideas

Does the commander light up and initalize like normal? Can you go to the sensor screen and see if there are some not showing the signal.

How are the crank trigger sensors? They did not get hit when installed.

Commander didnt light up at all.

this is so bizar. i have no idea whats going on. i looked around and saw a loose ground so i tightened it. nothing happened. turned it on and off a few times, same results. so i pulled the ecu to see if i could visually see if it was fried, check out looking mint. put it all back, everything worked, car started........................ wtf?

i can get the car to start whenever i want now, but i have to play with the gas, its not getting enough fuel on start up. i cant really do anything else as i just found out my radiator fans arent kicking on. motor got to 103...... fml.

that will be handled tomorrow. im just too fed up right now.

I'm trying to remember: aren't there little lock tabs on the harness connectors to keep the pins in place (I know my jumper harness has them)? If so are the tabs good?

tabs look like they were in ww2 and then Godzilla chewed them, however they are a HUGE PITA to pull out so i doubt the connection is bad. you need a lot of force to pull them loose

I had the same problem ended up being the ground by the abs on the firewall. Does the dash cluster light up?

I did that as well. It definitely sounds like a grounding problem though.

Check this out.

Just the immediate one where the ecu connects to the harness.

Have you checked your crank angle sensors?

take ecu out and put in friends fd. see if it works. if so then continue hunting for that loose/missing ground. if not then you know its the ecu
