It's not as easy at it sounds. you have to open the loom and track the wires around and remove whatever you've got removed from the car. Some wires are t-ed off one another.

So.... I grounded the cable as instructed from the gray solenoid. My question is, can I cut off all my connectors in the rats nest and not have to worry about any problems?

here are some pictures from others single turbo harness' that i've collected. It should give you a visual of what's going on. Remember they might be different than yours due to what's been removed on yours vs theirs. Some people remove the IAC and some don't.

Just cracked open my harness. There is no brown wire with black stripe going to any of the solenoids. The only information I have found about this was from another rewiring thread and all it said was.
"If you cut off the solenoid connectors the idle air control will not function. It shares a power with the gray solenoid connector."
So.... I grounded the cable as instructed from the gray solenoid. My question is, can I cut off all my connectors in the rats nest and not have to worry about any problems?

ugh soo confusing, what exactly needs to happen with that gray wire, cuz i dont want 8 plugs just sitting there frmo the rats nest that arent going to be connected to anything ever again. etc for w/e other plugs arent needed anymore.. anyone please?

So what should I do with the ground from the rat's nest that daisy chains throughout all the rats nest? should I just slice it to the ISC wires? or maybe take out the pin and pin it into the ISC plug?

Ok I unwrapped the harness to find where one of the missing grounds goes. Problem is, I cant remember what plug it went to (sorry) but I'll try to explain as best as I can.
On two of the connectors (one of them is the gray connector) there are two grounds going into the plug. These plugs have two grounds because the ground goes back into the harness and supplies a ground for another connection. The ground for the gray connector that doubles back into the harness does go the idle air control valve.
Now, my car is running non sequential turbos, a PFC, no emissions, and a aftermarket boost controller. Consequently when I traced the other ground back into the harness (not the gray connector) it lead to a plug that I had already cut off. So if your setup is the same as mine then the only ground you really need to worry about is that ground that went to the gray connector.
Even though I can't remember what that other plug was that had a double ground, I have a solution. On the gray connector and the other connector that has a double ground going into the plug, simply cut off the plug and connect the two ground wires together. Those are the only connections you have to worry about if you are simplifying the rats nest.

hey all, just gonna bump this. Below are pictures of the ground that winds throughout the rats nest and into the AVC & connects with the ISC.
You can see that the grounds are joined by a metal connector just before the rats nest split. The ground wires are Grey/Whitestripe on my automatic harness.
I will post more as I progress through the simplification process (just started it a couple days ago with leisurely taking off the harness' tape.
FEEL FREE TO CHIME IN IF I MAKE MISTAKES HA!

The two grounds that bolt up to the block itself. Once i removed all the emissions and ISC AWS the two grounds loop into each other and trace back towards the ecu connectors. Do i need these grounds/do they need to be rewired?
Also, for the most part my harness is fine, there is a slightly exposed wire in one of the injectors wiring. What gauge wire should i replace this with.
