What belt size do I need?

Iam in the process of putting my motor back together without airpump, PS, and AC. I currently have the rx-7 store underdrive main crank pulley and my water pump and alternator pulleys are stock. Iam wondering what size belt I need. Any help would be great.

I would recommend getting an airpump removal pulley kit. It will give you better contact with the waterpump pulley.

However, even with a kit, you'll need a different belt since most of the kits are designed to work with the stock main pulley unless you go with a Unorthodox Full Pulley Set.

I'm using the Pettit TKT Power Pulley kit with the Rotary Performance Air Pump Removal kit. The belt I used was a 28.5" 4 rib.

BTW, don't expect answers within minutes (or hours). If you are going to ask for help, you need to show some patience.

i think you can use a string to trace the path of the belt, and figure out what size you are going to need.

I ended up using a 29.5 inch belt for stock crank and pulleys.

congratulations on dumping all that extraneous stuff. you will love it.

you'll need a 29.5 inch belt.... look around and try to get a 5 rib. 4 ribs will work but are better as spares which you should have on board w a 12 and 14 mm wrench.

Sorry to Necro - but does anyone happen to have the length of the belt to use the RP main power pulley yet retain AC and PS? Last time I want to the store I wound up driving back and forth about 6 times. Finally said screw it tossed the old one back on and drove it to RP, but then it jumped the PS pulley and turned itself into a 5 rib and it seemed fine when I cleaned it up, but it's turned into a 4.5 ribbed banshee. Seems like a silly thing to try to bug RP with and quite a drive for little reason.

I almost just want to get a stock main pulley just to not have to deal with these mystery sizes. Thanks in advance.

Belt #6

Pettit Power Pulley, w/ Power Steering & w/ Air Conditioning Length 39.5" x 6-Rib (Metric: 1000mm)
Belt #7

Underdrive Main, w/ Power Steering & w/ Air Conditioning Length 40" x 6-Rib (Metric: 1015mm)
I want to say I used these dimensions last time to not much luck
