What is the advantage of aftermarket spark plug wires?

What is the advantage of aftermarket spark plug wires?
I was just looking at getting new spark plug wires & was wondering what the differences were? Is there a reason to get a different type of wire? Is it better to have more resistance? less resistance? Does a bigger wire mean longer plug life or vice versa?
Specifically, I was looking at the stuff available from RX7.com . After doing a search on the forum, I'v nixed Magnecore from my possible choices, but there's still Jacobs, NKG, Accel, stock... etc.
oh, and what about sizes? I remeber discussions about running 7mm on the front rotor and 9mm on the rear... or 9mm all the way around, but the Jacob's set is 8.5mm for all 4... is that good? bad?
what's the deal?

I used the Jacobs wires and didn't care for their fit on the coils. They never came off, but they didn't give me that "Ah, I will never have to worry about this" feeling. I have since bought a new set of NGKs (stockers) and am once again happy. The NGKs also come with the foam around the leading wires and the plastic protector for the rear trailing.

With the improved spark plug wires you car will have better response on acceleration -it not add more hp-,
and you will feel you engine running smoother than before.
I have the magnecor 10 mm wires since 4000 miles ago and no problems until now. They works very good.
I´m happy with my wires. Before I had the stock wires and the difference with the magnecor is from the land to the sky.

The size is the just the silicone jacket sealing size. Supposedly you need thicker wires when you're running an ignition amp to reduce electrical interference.
I have the 8mm Magnacores. I have no way to benchmark it's performance but I do think that they helped idle smooth out. Of course my old wires had 50K miles on it. It didn't fit on the coils too well, but look where the coil is located.

My first "mod" was NGK wires almost a year ago. When I did my "half ***" hose job last week I checked them and they were still on the coils solid. rx7.com said the stock or stock replacment wires were really good and no need to go bigger until you're producing alot of power and the NGK's fit the best.

Does anyone know when you have to change your Spark Plug Wires? I have the Magnacor 10mm wires and have not changed them since I had about 35,000 miles I now have 93,000 miles and it has been almost 5 years since I changed them. Also I recently been have problems of my spark plugs flooding with gas and the car does not start, I have to take them out and clean them it the car has not been started for a couple of weeks, is this the cause of the Magnacor wires not being replaced?

I'd stay away. Just to comment on NGK they are stock, OEM, regular wires that come with the car and can be purchased from a dealership. Personally I have heard the greatest amount of good comments on Accel and Taylor. MSD look great too.

I chose Vitek wires
I chose Vitek because they come in colros (matching my sicone vacuum lines), but mostly because of the very high heat that they can handle.
I had Magnecors on my Honda then my distributor went out so I switched to Accell for 1/2 the money and they seemed just as good. I don't know if the if it was the wires that fried the distributor or the other way around but the Acell suppress radio interferance better and the Honda was not high power (OEM distributor).
If you are on a budget, go with Taylor Pro's $26 from Summit racing.
You can get HKS Iriduim Spark Plugs from rx7store.net , they also have NGK & Racing Beat wires.
