Arrow Went Non-Seq w/ M2 Stage III ECU...help me fix the turbo lag

Hey Guys,

I know that there are a lot of guys running Non-Seq. out there thanks to some very helpful forum members(AKA; ...rikki, 7sins, etc.)

The car builds up boost nice and smoothly to redline(no more spikes!). However, the lag is pretty bad for me. I build 10+psi by 4600-4900 rpm. How can get mine boost to spool up faster, say by 3500 rpm?

I followed these directions:

Here is the updated procedure.
1. Take the air box out, and the 2 hoses that supply air to the turbos.
2. Take the blow off valve and charge relief valve off
3. Disconnect the vacuum line to the charge relief valve and cap it at the upper manifold.
4. T into the blow off valve´s vacuum line, and run a new line to the old charge releif valve.
5. Remove all vacuum lines to the charge control valve on the rear of the Y pipe. This should dissable the butterfly in the Y... keeping it open always. Besure to cap all the removed vacuum lines to the manifold and Y pipe.
6. Jack up the car, support it with jack stands, and take off the front passenger side tire (this makes it tons easier to get under and out of the car.)
7. Remove the head sheilding to the under neath of the turbo (should be 5-6 10mm nuts and bolts)
8. Remove the keeper pin from the actuator rod and seperate the rod from the door mechanism. Wire the door open. I ran a wire around the actuator around the door lever and back about 3 times. (tip: with the car off, the door is closed. to open it, it should be rotated towards the front of the car)
9. Remove the vacuum lines to the Turbo Pre Control actuator, remove the rod to the door, and wire it open. Make sure to cap all loose lines.
10. Leave the direct pressure line (the one with the restrictor) on the Wastegate actuator, but remove and plug the other line leading to the Wastegate solonoid.
11. Resinstall all your intake hoses, make sure it is all tightened, and take it for a spin around the block (or further)

I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO THE WIRE HARNESSES OF THE WASTEGATE OR PRECONTROL SOLENOIDS. Did I miss something?

Thanks!

John

Hey dude,

Are you sure you didn't forget to cap a line somewhere. We forgot to cap the CRV and had the exact same problem. We capped it and now have full boost at 3900 rpm. You won't get it any quicker without a PMS or PFC so you can control the wastegate with the computer. All of this info is per DBAR(Ryan) he did my non-seq mod.

I know it's not much help but go through it one more time to be sure.

twstd rx,

I'll check again. Maybe one of my caps blew off. I'm wondering if my CRV/BOV is bad.

Thanks,

John

John,

It's possible. I've blown off a cap or two myself. As for the CRV, BOV, I think my new Blitz has a problem. I've been attempting to adjust it and have it all the way in and it still blows off boost at about 8psi! It's pissing me off and I can't find my stock BOV!

I don't think it's the cat. My hi-flow cat is only two months old.

I just did the non seq mod to my car. I still haven't figured out exactly what to do so this is what I did

1) Took out TCA and wired door open, plugged two hoses

2) Removed two lines from charge control valve and plugged two hoses

3) t'ed Charge relief and blow off valve to upper intake manifold

4) Removed two hoses from precontrol solenoid and plugged hoses

5) Wastegate-- no change

Is this right?? Please help. Car is still being put back togother so I don't know how it works. I am still running the stock ecu.

Thanks

Raj

Question Blitz BOV?

Andrew,

I got a blitz BOV(the one with a horn on it) for free when I bought my M2 MED smic(used). I haven't tried adjusting it yet. Actually, I didn't know that you could adjust it. Got any instructions for me? Pro's, con's dangers...

I just posted a question on D_B_A_R's Non sequential page, with a question regarding using the pressure chamber between the turbo and the wastegate acuator to delay the wastegate by buffering the amount of air needed to open it. I figure it is a clean method, and could possibly drop full boost to around 3500 or lower.

for non-seq, i would think a relief typ mbc would work great for minimum lag. about $40.

remove pill and put this in wg actuator line, and plug other line exiting the wg actuator.

www.dawesdevices.com

also called harmond controler. very simple. keeps wg closed tight until u hit your desired boost level.
