Welding the WG for Non-Seq... PICS!!!
Hey everyone... Me again...
Just wondering what should I be seeing if the WG was ported and properly welded as it should be when going NON-Seq? Also if my setup is not as it should be could that be a reason for only getting a max of 7lbs?(Yes the pills are there)

You do not weld the waste gate then it will not work .You can weld the prespool door shut and the big turbo control door open .Or you you can send me the four cast iron parts and I will do my Rich Mans Non Seq modification on it . Then it will flow better and spool faster than the normal non seq set up .

You don't have the wastegate pictured. For the full nonseq setup, you cut out the flapper door in the manifold, weld the precontrol door (the one pictured) or cut that door out as well. Removing those doors will leave holes in the housing and manifold, and those should be welded closed.
Most people port the wastegate while they have the turbos apart. This doesn't require any welding. The hole under the flapper is just enlarged to flow more exhaust gases past the turbines.

Ok so here are the pics. Hoot Hoot! I guess this can eventually be put somewhere so people can have a visual of what exactly going Full-Non entails when making reference to the Wastegate and the Precontrol door(s).
So to make a general inquiry.
1. Wastegate should be ported
2. Wastegate door should be welded shut or cut off?
3. Prespool door should be welded or cut off?

In picture #1 Precontrol - What do we do to that?
In picture #2 Wastegate - What do we do to that?
That's about as simple as I can make it. Really appreciate this guys. ( Doing R&D in the meantime )

Yes, search the forum for more info. You want to enlarge the hole as large as possible, yet the door will still seal. Cutting the material that the wastegate door stops against while opening - will allow it to open more and flow more.
2. Wastegate door should be welded shut or cut off?
Why would you do either of these? Welding the door shut will make you boost to 30psi or something. Cutting the door off will not let you boost much if anything especially with the hole ported.

Not specifically from a write-up. Talking from friends who own 7's ( mostly Rican ) who have converted to Non-Seq.
And yes I said "Rican" because we all know how much Rican's love their 7's. And yes I'm part Rican so no one should get their panties in a bunch for the phrasing. Gotta keep it PC just "in case"...

^----- yeah thats done already. That was about an hour job expanding the size of the hole. Not bad actually.
And no nothing bad is about to happen because in order for something bad to happen I would have to put it back together without making sure that its done completely and correctly.
So how bout assisting maybe, because it's obvious that getting opinions from about 1,000 people is just going to lead in circles and endless debate.

The exhaust flow from the prespool door goes directly into the secondary turbine.
If it's welded open, nothing will change as if it's sequential and both turbos are spooling.
If it's cut off and the remaining hole welded closed, nothing will change either (I have no hard evidence, but my logic says welding it open will flow better, hence why I went that route).
If you weld the door closed, exhaust flow will go from the manifold runners into the turbines.
Play with the precontrol door a little and see which one makes more sense to you. I seriously doubt there is any noticeable performance benefit over any choice though.
