Weird wiring issue/ airbag light flashing, no odometer, etc.
Hey all! To make this short and sweet, I put an aftermarket wheel in my car w the 1 ohm resistor in the clock spring to turn off the airbag light. It worked.
After my build, the airbag light was on and would flash in sequence of 10. I disabled the battery multiple times, fiddled w the resistor, nothing would work. Eventually, I unplugged the airbag module completely and that made my airbag light just stay on permanantly but also made my odometer disappear.
Skip forward months to today and I just reset the battery doing something else and plugged in my airbag module to double check the flashing count to diagnose again. This time the airbag light stays off and my odometer is back.
My question is, is the odometer and airbag light related? Is there a common wiring gremlin I dont know about that I should be checking? I feel as if though this issue will be back and is just a fluke that its not currently presenting itself.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

The odometer will sometimes go on and off with battery disconnections with failing components in the cluster. Eventually the odometer won't work at all. I'd send it to Michael Gagne for a repair.
Airbag light typically will stay on with the airbag computer unplugged. That can just be remedied by pulling the bulb
