5 Beeps - Airbag light working but not flashing
There are five beeps upon starting and sporadically while driving. The airbag light appears on start-up, but turns off an does flash a fault code.
The most common problems that appear to cause the five beeps are a faulty airbag light bulb or maybe a faulty diagnostic module (I have a 1993 model year). However, the light bulb will turn on. The fault in the diagnostic module appears to make the airbag light flash a fault code, but my airbag light turns off after starting.
I have a stock steering wheel and have not touched any steering wheel electronics. The problem started after I replaced the battery and installed a kill switch on the new battery. My ABS light is on and my odometer/trip turns on occasionally.
Current solution is to disconnect the diagnostic module. Although the beeping has stopped, I do not know the side effects of having it disconnected and would prefer to have a working airbag.
I am stumped. Any thoughts would be helpful.
