weird water temperature.. i've searched
Ok before i get flamed, i have already search.
Ok my problem is.. my car has a water temp of around 87-94 celcius on my PFC commander.. I think it's okay...
sometimes the temp goes to 100 degrees .. especially at idle .. But my major question is : when do i came back from a run, and turn off the car, when i come to restart it, i hear a click click, it doesn't start, and the second or third time, it will start .. and the temp is at 115 degrees and goes down 20 seconds later ..
i know its not normal .. maybe a fluydine rad would solve the problem??
my mods are :
K&N intake
3 inch downpipe
greddy sp catback
apexi power fc
running the base map on the PFC.
and running 10 psi
boost pattern is good 10-8-10
and last compression check of the engine was at 102 000 KM and it has 105 000 Km now .. compression was in the 8 for each rotors.

and BTW i had a coolant leak, and i did the pressure check to see where was the leak, found that one clamp on a hose was loose so i fixed it. and the pressure test was OK... so i expect no internal problems , i hope ..
I've read on another thread that i can verify in the filler neck when i start the car if there is bubles.
..
we'll see

well the temps going up at idle like that seems like the fans are not turning on. could also be air in the coolent but seems more like the fans. now the starting problem... sounds like the starter is going. my 240sx would do the same exact thing, click a few times when i went to start it, then it would finally start. i changed the starter and it was back to normal.

You don't need to do the fan mod, with the datalogit, you can tell the PFC what temp to turn the fans on. Default is 99C, so your fans are operating correctly.
The heat soak after shut down is COMPLETELY NORMAL. It is also normal for the car to be a little bit harder to start when it is that hot, especially on an older engine with slightly lower compression.
Depending on your ambient temps, your temps seem fairly normal to me. You'll always get people jumping in to say how they NEVER go over 85C or something like that....well they are running their fans continuously, which is not your situation.

Are you sure about the "default" 99C?Because my fans turn on at 94C(low speed) and at 99C they go to medium speed. All that with the pfc as it camefrom the factory ,but now that i think of it,i have done the miata mod....

It's totally normal to see a temp spike after the car has sat for a bit. The water is just sitting there, absorbing heat, and it's not getting circulated through the radiator. Momentary temp spikes aren't anything to get concerned with.
I've been running my HKS fan controller for about a month now, and ALWAYS see temps in the '80s - highest I've seen was yesterday, 96 degrees and humid out with the AC on, I saw 90 degrees C. This is with a stock radiator too! Fan control is a key to keeping the temps in check. If you want to know more about the fan controller, hit up my review at http://www.clubrx.org

I'll leave my fans running to cool the water in the radiator when I pull in the driveway at home. I also pop the hood. I'll come out a few minutes later and let her run for a few seconds and watch the temps drop as the colder water that was cooled in the radiator gets circulated into the engine.
