Weird Vacuum and Boost Problems

Ok having a couple of things going wrong right now. Car is an automatic. When first started the vacuum is at -16". When I put it into reverse the vacuum drops all the way to -8-9". When crusing, if I let off the throtle completely I get -20" vacumm. The problem is when going to a stop (-9") or in reverse, vacuum is really low and feels almost as its going to stall. I did a pretty comprenehsive search, and found that it could possible be a TPS problem, but not sure how I check if the tps is bad or not. Any other problems, I know its not a vacuum leak because the vacuum would be too high. Any ideas?

I also have a problem with boost. The max I can boost is 8.5 psi all across the rpm range. The car pulls STRONG all the way and spools correctly I just cant get pass 8.5psi? I have a blitz boost controller with all the gains and boost set correctly. I used version two on my boost controll setup (the two nipples together and the two actuators together).

Any thoughts? I really would like to fix as many of the problems as possible as its my daily driver and we all know its more fun when working properly.

Thanks for any help inputed.

The car shakes pretty bad but will never actually stall, just flutter in the 500rpm range.

Try cleaning the throttle body, be careful, make sure you defog the motor afterwards or you'll muck up your plugs!

I'm not even half as good at diagnosing things as some of the other people on here but I threw this site at another guy today:

http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-7/rx7stuff.htm

I have a 5 speed but I can tell you that if you follow the sequence of troubleshooting on this site you have a good chance of success with fixing it. It has helped me a lot.

Good luck.

I had this problem once on my Maxima - the fuel filter was the reason. When was yours last changed?
