Weird question - FD rear wiper switch

Hi,

I've been trying to look for the rear wiper switch for my 94 JDM FD, and can't find it. Is it normally on the same stock that's used for the front wiper? I'm thinking at some point either the wiper stock or the hatch was switched out.

Yes, it's on the same wiper stock. You should be able to just twist it to either spray the back or activate the rear wiper. Have a picture of yours? I'm curious.

Yeah, mine definitely doesnt look like that. Do you have the washer fluid tank in the back hatch by the tail lights? I wonder if the switch was just replaced with one from an FD without a rear wiper, or if the rear wiper was added.

Yeah it has the reservoir in the rear, so I guess the stock was probably changed for some reason.

First, had to chime in - WIPER STALK, not stock.

Second, in theory it could have had the rear hatch replaced with one with a rear wiper. But, if you have that rear washer tank it's more likely that the wiper switch/turn signal assembly was replaced. There's a number of reasons why it was replaced - I replaced mine a while back due to the wipers running slow.

That said, if you want to track down a replacement that does have the switch for the rear wiper know that there is a difference between the RHD and LHD assemblies. I'm guessing you have a RHD car, you'll need to find a used RHD assembly. The LHD stalks are reversed - turn signal on the left, wiper on the right.

Fortunately it's not too bad of a job, hardest part is removing the steering wheel.

I was wondering how long it would take before one of our OCD members would comment on that - I was thinking about it but you and Dale beat me to it.

I'm pretty sure every jdm FD came with a rear wiper. I deleted mine many years ago, I can't remember even using it. When im home as im away I'll have a check for you, I've also got 2 spare stalk assemblies so I'll compare but I'm pretty sure they all came with one. If I remember correctly push the stalk back (away from you does the rear washer) and as mentioned pretty sure the end twists to activate the back lol
