ON WEIRD IDLE ISSUE (ported motor)

hey guys, I have just completed a complete rebuild, port/polish(pineapple racing's medium street port) and single turbo upgrade. I am still running stock injectors, fuel pump and computer until I break the engine in. I have fired the car up about 10 times now, i was having exhaust leaks and flooding issues so i had to take care of that but I just noticed tonight that it is making a weird klunking noise. I took a video of the car idling but it wont allow me to attach it to this thread. the only thing i could compare it to is an old tractor engine at idle....just not as loud! the car idles around 1100rpm and hasnt dropped below that since the rebuild. I havent put it in gear yet so its not like i ran it too hard. The sound seems to be coming from the engine itslef but im not 100% positive. does anybody know what this might be? thank you,

Alex

post vid to youtube and put the html link in the post box. It'll load right up. That being said, I have no idea what the problem is, but good luck.

the problem is your running a ported motor on a stock computer. you need to upgrade you unit the stock ecu cant compensate with the new intake and exhaust amounts.

that would cause the noise coming from the engine? The car ran without that noise for the first 8 - 10 times. im guesing that i would have to get the new computer tuned right away? thanks for your help,

you'll need the new ecu and a tune anyways. kinda sounds like something is loose and is vibrating, at least that's how it sounds in the video, exhaust maybe?

Who built the motor?

That exhaust note doesn't sound right. Hard to diagnose over the net, but a compression check wouldn't be a bad idea.

thanks for your input guys....i am going to contact a guy about a tune and computer tonight. The motor was built by myself and a friend with a lot of help from the information on this site. I will go over everything again to make sure nothing is loose and i will try to fire it up again tomorrow.
