weight of 94 FD touring pckg
Hey guys, I was remembering the day I smoged my car. (about 2 months ago) I was looking at the smog report and I saw that it read that my car was 3125 pounds... is this correct??
Isn't the weight for the FD somewhere around 2800 pounds??
I have a 94 FD MB Touring
I was hoping maybe the smog center's scale was a bit off... but damn.. a couple hundred pounds is a lot ....

I wasn't aware of an actual scale at the smog check.
Are you sure they weren't looking up a number from their database w/2 passengers? I assume they need some weight value to load-down the dyno to simulate the movement of the car.

My '95 PEP door jamb sticker reads 3,210 lbs., but that's the gross weight, not actual weight.
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is the maximum loaded weight of a vehicle, including fuel, fluids, passengers, and full payload, if applicable.

so are you guys suggesting that the scale weight is totally wrong?? the smog tech was not in the car when he was weighing it.
oh, and if it makes even the smallest diff, I took out my spare..
anyone have any other ideas on what I can take out on my car to make it lighter?
