anything I should know before I install BOV?

Just got a greddy type s BOV so I just wanted to know if there is anything I should know before I drop it in.(stock location) Also there is a big stem (which out of the box you have to screw on) and then a tiny stem that angles down. What is that about? Plus my stock one right now has a hose running into one end and a hose running out of it connecting to my intake (apex'i) with the greddy you only have one inlet and a inlet for a vacuum line. There is a est 1 3/4" threaded hole on the other side. Is this supposed to be open like that to vent into the engine bay or am I missing some sort of flange or connector to connect the second hose leading into my intake?

make sure you secure the end where the BOV is too something. there are some mounting spots near the front head light and the fan relays. also plug up the stock airbox hole if you still have it where the original BOV is. be sure to use zip ties to put the vacuum line back on.

also when tuning the BOV. start loose and then get sharper. starting too sharp can cause a lot of compressor back surge.

I have the apex'i power intake system. the outgoing hose leads from the stock b.o.v into the intake. also whats the deal with the small nipple that angles downward. Is that for the wastegate application? thanks.

there is a big threaded hole. Is that supposed to remain open to the elements or am I missing some sort of an adapter or something? The hose leading from the stock b.o.v. am I supposed to not use it anymore? And is there such a thing as starting at such a soft setting that the valve will not function. How do I know that the current setting is correct?

If your stock BOV has failed, you really should save your money and just replace it with the Mazda part.

If your car is modified in such a way that you require an aftermarket BOV, then you really should be able to figure this out on your own.

Your question really makes no sense and I would imagine that is why you have been ignored.

BOV questions are very irritating because nobody is interested in their function, solely their cool factor.

I just wanted to be a 1,000,000,000% sure that I was going to do it right. This is my first turbo car so I'm a little clueless at times and perhaps over worried. I HAD a guy who did my work until he started lying to me overcharging me and then f-ing up my electrical system in my car by doing a shotty job of splicing wires together. Is there no sympathy for the do-it-yourselfer/beginner that wants to learn anything and everything that loves his car and babies it and in the process prays he doesn't F things up by being stupid and not knowing? Sorry for asking a question when I didn't know something. Now I know why I stopped coming here for valuble info because newbies ALWAYS get ignored and/or ripped on. As far as I'm concerned WVRx7 you can lick my dick you piece of ****. It's a little different down here in So. Cal. Come out sometime!

That's the way to ensure that you get helped...

BTW Junior, people who bump their posts every 20-30 minutes tend to **** other people off, because it looks like they expect everyone to drop what they're doing and come running with an answer.

Did your BOV come with instructions? You do understand that it has an inlet and an outlet and probably a barbed fitting for a vacuum line which opens the valve, right? It probably even has an arrow on it indicating the direction of airflow like the stock piece. You're a big boy, you should be able to figure this out for yourself.

very true. I was just excited that I got my new BOV since I've been waiting for it for 9 weeks now since greddy was back ordered.

I don't remeber verbally attacking you. What do you care what I say to other people. If you want to ignore me than do so. Responding to my thread seems kind of rediculous. And don't worry. I won't be coming back all that much. This place used to be a pretty good source for help and info. I ALWAYS do search's before posting a thread. Now it just seems as though all the less informed guys get ripped on. Unfortunantly I don't know much about turbo systems. I want to learn and are willing to learn. If this forum was about recording music, playing music or anything to do with music I would run laps around you guys since that is my true passion. I'm just out of genre here I guess. Too bad for me.

I guess it is different in So. Cal. Here in WV we don't request oral sex from other men.

Enjoy your blow off valve. You seem fixated on such things.

It is a shame that so many world class cars are wasted on classless people.
