Question weedwhacker versus thunder

im getting a down pipe soon cause i think my pre cat is finally going and should i choose to get a whole new exhaust system (my poor wallet) i was wondering if you guys could help inform me what exhaust would sound more like a rumbly noise and less rice (weedwhacker) i really like the sound i have now howevr i dont see the point of replacing the pre-cat and if i get a mid pipe/silencer will it make it ricey ? or what ? obviously im new to putting exhaust on *real* performance cars and i dont want it to sound like a local honda thanks

if your short on cash, just get a downpipe and leave the stock cat and exhaust. The car sounds great with a downpipe and seems more responsive (turbo spool).

In fact, its a great "reliability" mod as lowers a source of heat to the engine bay (the pre cat).

If you want to spend more money get a Racing Beat cat back. I think it has a great sound (do a search). If you want to do some more then add a high flow cat or mid pipe but make sure you have something to control boost.

......but if you really want thunder...just do a LS1 conversion instead

I have an hks downpipe and cat-back and I love the sound of it. I don't think you will ever get a V8 type rumbling sound due to the smaller engine size, but it is way better then any honda type noise.

I agree with 7racer - the RB catback, stock cat, and downpipe are a nice beefy sounding combination.

I have this combo and i'm very pleased with it. Not annoying at all.
People say good things about the Greddy exhausts as well.
