Has it been 6 months since the last weedwhacker/forced induction thread?

Haven't seen the "HOMEMADE TURBO FROM AN ELECTRIC WEEDWHACKER!" topic in a long time. I guess nobody tried it. I liked the idea of using a 12v rechargeable weedwhacker blower that was RPM activated. Probably would have been good for 1 or 2 psi at the top end.

I'm gonna go look online and see how far 12v weedwhackers have evolved.

As I recall, it was put off when discovered that even though it flows a high rate of speed, its not flowing enough air at that said speed.

Consider that notion second-ed. Its all about the compression people, not just how fast air is flowing.

What if you just hooked up your exhaust manifold right up to you intake manifold? Think about how much power you would make.

I seriously had someone try to tell me that. I was trying my hardest not to laugh at him or call him a moron.

Who can tell me about the midget actuated 6-ports? I've used the search function but can't find it.

I know this may raise heated discussions...

But how about the idea of using an electric blower to supply air to the intercooler (or even the radiator for those FMIC guys)? What does everyone think? Will it benefit? Just a thought...

yes you would benifit....

just put a nice big 16 inch thermo fan on the front/back of your intercooler and voila.....

this is especially handy for those who have an intercooler which blocks airflow to the radiator....

using a "suck through" fan on the back of the cooler and one on the radiator would get quite good airflow over the radiator and keep the engine nice and cool....

i doubt youd see much performance gains though.

putting a fan on the intercooler is a good idea, especially when you spend a lot of time in low speeds where heat soak is probable (especially with the shitty stock mount IC)

Im seriouse with this one... Someone can correct me if im wrong but, How about finding a small electric water pump and use a oil cooler rad for r12 and have cool air blow in your custom cold air box. wouldnt this work for someone who has time and money on thier hands. For N/As. I hope this thought doesent come up in the stupidest ideas thread somday.

You could just use a big (10cm x 10cm) 12V electric fan (or 2) and mount them strategically so as to get lots of airflow into your box. That would work but I don't know how effective it would be...
