Weeding out the Wiring Harness?

If one were to wanna take out the connections on the wiring harness that are no longer used and not just cut them at the ends, but unwrap the whole thing and pull them out and rewrap, is there something they would have to watch out for? I've seen a site explaining this but cant seem to find it.

Thanks
~Luke

if you are just cleaning up the harness... one thing to mention is there are a lot of common grounds and such... you will not be able to have all wires conect on both ends... does that make sence?

for someone that has restrung the entire harness it makes perfect sense
I don’t know that it was worth the time to do it though! But I trust high quality silicone covered wire a lot more than that stock mazda shiznat! Plus I covered it all with heat shielded convalescent tubing.

Not the Haltech, more then likly going with the AEM or PFC system and just wanted all those connections out of there, like under the UIM for instance. My people suggested just cutting it off but i would think that could lead to grounding something out.

Since we are talking about wiring harnesses here, where can you get replacement clips? I broke a few clips when I removed my harness. Most of them are ok, but one of my injector clips broke into pieces. So I really need to get a new injector clip, the others are not completely broken but I would like to replace them all. A new wiring harness just costs so much. Damn, it's crazy.

I am in the same situation as Luke, I have replaced my twins with a single and I have all the extra solenoids wires hanging around. I also am installing a complete BOP kit so those wires can go and I no longer have AC or PS, so those wires can go. I am running the PFC, how can I clean up my wiring mess? Luke, we should meet up in KC sometime to go over some of this. Since we are both playing with our harnesses and our fuel systems.

Im using some high temp tubing that a friend “borrowed” from Freightliner, and wrapped it with reflective heatshilding tape that Freightliner was also kind enough to donate to the cause.

P.S.
Thanks Freightliner, you rock…well except for your products, keep the free stuff coming!

How did you make the connection between the new wire and the old plugs? Did you crimp leads on? splice/solder to the old wire?
