Sad. Very sad.

Kevin's memory + the story by Jeff with Tuck, Duff, etc... really takes me back. I was on the "big list" subscribed to FC and FD for years (don't really remember how many) and the stories and people here really take me back.

Rest in peace, Kevin.

Sad, particularly given what he had accomplished recently. I have a bunch of his stuff in my car that I guess will make some part of him live on.

Deer are everywhere in MN. The road he was killed on is near a lot of open riverfront floodplain. It's a suburb city street but again deer are everywhere as much in the suburbs as rural areas.

Damian and Andy were both pretty shocked by this. I never met the guy but i saw his designs 2nd hand on their FDs. Truly well engineered. And University of Minnesota medical school is one of the better ones in the country.

We lost a brilliant mind. RIP

Over the years I have done a lot of reading on the forum and Kevin's posts were always loaded with good information and I learned from him. It is truly sad to loose a father to a family and such a brilliant mind. Rest In Peace Kevin.

Looks like he has made an impact on other car communities as well. http://www.tcstangs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102725

Very sad news! Kevin was one of the true pioneers of the US domestic aftermarket for the FD. He was a true asset to the community that always shared and helped folks on on the BIG LIST and on here. As many have said, and I rememeber, he didn't suffer fools very well, but that just made me, and all the true enthusiast step up their knowledge, before spouting!

Condolences to all his family and friends! My prayers for them.

I'm a little slow hearing the bad news.

Jefflit that was a great post. Back in '96 ish I remember reading the RX7 lemon site (I had a TII and aspired to own an FD, how could it be!?!) and Two guys, no pistons and 500hp (or something close) adventure. I "met" a great bunch of guys on the Big List starting in 97-98 and remember the great debates, etc.

Kevin will be missed!

As another long-time FD owner I also remember the Big List (I'm still on it) and all the old names like Tuck, Jim LaBreck, and Kevin Wyum. I also have met many of them. I was an early PFS customer and got to know John Duff and met Tuck at a track event.

My first job in investment banking was for a company headquartered in Minneapolis. I got to meet Kevin, whom I had already read tons about. I met him at his house and got to admire all his home built handiwork and his knowledge of the car. I saw his clever set up with a second fuel tank in the car so he could run leaded race gas at the track and regular gas on the street between the One Lap track sessions. Of course, when he initially saw several PFS parts on my car he was very suspicious of me given his falling out with Peter Farrell and I had to prove I wasn't a PFS spy who was going to blab and bad mouth everything I had seen.

I was an early beneficiary of the knowledge he and many others mentioned in these posts had, and used many parts derived from their designs. He truly was a rotary pioneer and my condolences go out to his family.

- Mike

I chatted with Kevin a few times by phone regarding my mods and his parts, as well as emailed him many times on the big list. He will be missed as a person and friend as well as his knowledge.

My prayers with his family.

That's really sad, being a motorcyclist myself these kinds of stories always make me a bit nervous. Some things are just unavoidable on a bike no matter how good you are. We have lots of deer where I live too. And a guy I knew was paralized when he crashed into a cow.
