Sorry to hear this. I've heard his name throughout the years w/ASP, etc. Where I live, deer collisions with motorists are a BIG problem because so much land development is going on. I remember riding a few years ago and from out of nowhere a deer shot out across the road about 100 ft. ahead of me. Made me think if I was a 1-2 seconds ahead I would have got nailed by it.

You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning.
I've been riding for 20+ years and belong to several bike forums - I've never heard of this happening, it's truly a freak accident. The article did not say if he was riding at night, which is far more dangerous, and deer are out more. 90% of motorcycle crashes are related to 1) drinking 2) inexperienced riders. It didn't help that Kevin was riding an older bike with probably less than stellar braking; the new bikes are head and shoulders better performing than even a few years ago.
I don't live my life in fear, that's no way to live. Get out and ride, for every horror story like this there are many more stories of a lifetime of great riding.

Sorry to hear about this.
Kevin supplied me with the first of the 'one row shorter' intercoolers so the darn thing would actually fit! He was an ornery cuss, but that is the way with many entrepreneurs. His products were vital to our early quest for engines that would live on a road course.
I hope he enjoyed this life and my heart goes out to his family and friends on their loss.

I know that we've had the "In Memory of Icemark" on the web page header for more than a year now. I think it would be nice to have some type of "In Memory" link built into the header that people could click on to see pictures of fallen enthusiasts or leave messages if so desired. Just a thought. Seems like we've tragically lost quite a few very significant people over the past 5-10 years. It would be nice to honor them all somehow. Just my .02!

Along with Dale Clark, I met Kevin at the first Drag War in South Florida during the mid '90s after following his exploits on the Big List. As Brad said, a good guy that could get ornery. I think Jim LaBreck might be able to attest to that fact. However, if you shot straight with him, he always reciprocated in spades. Most of all in my memories, Kevin was always very much a "do-er" and not a spectator in life... a quality I always admired tremendously in him.
My heart will hurt for a few days at this news!
RIP, my friend and my sincerest condolences to the him family!

I remember Kevin from the "big list" days, and ran one of his ASP intercoolers on my FD back in the day. Reading this thread and seeing many of the former "big list" guys post takes me back to better days when Kevin and others were still with us, such a sad sad day, peace.

It is always a sad day when people who still have so much to contribute are taken from us. My condolences to his family and friends.
Another add-on idea for the "In Memory" link....how about pictures of the products the original founders like Trev and Kevin created for the FD community. While I have not been around since the "Big List" days, I too have read and followed many of the threads from guys like Kevin and Trev. Many of the newer members may see the name, but not understand at least part of the contribution.

RIP Kevin, I remember our conversations about my purchase of the ASP Intercooler and piping way back in the day. Great guy and extremely knowledgeable on Rx7's and will be missed.
Condolences to his family and friends from the Rx7 community.
I sort of wish his family could see how many people he touched in the Rx7 world and know how many lives he touched here.

Sorry for asking, but for the few of us who were not around at the time of "The Big List'' may i ask what was the big list? It would be nice to learn some history of this forum.

Back then, instead of going to www.rx7club.com and posting a question, you would go to your email account, and send an email to rx7@yahoogroup.com. Sonn after, you would receive your email, and a bunch of guys replying to your email.

Even Jim Labreck was nice back then, before he became an embittered old man
Those discussions did seem more civil/formal, which was good. Now it's anything goes on many forums.

Rip Kevin. Its always good when a persons good works can live on after he's gone.
Many of us here drive fast cars, ride motorcycles and even go to wars... count your blessings and do good work.
