Wax rod "slow"..

Did anybody have that problem? When I warm up car first in a morning I know wax rod wouldn't extend until I drive for a while so engine bay get's got. I know water temp is good but it still take much longer to react. It's kind of annoying to have 1300rpm idle when your car all warmed up

most on here remove that so it willnot rev to 1300 when you first start it up in the am.

I know. Hope to stumble upon one of those who like it stock

I have PFC and don't have that 3000rpm accelerated warmup. But 1300 idle with wax rod seems alright with me considering those ported single turbo cars won't idle below that anyway

So. I like the idea but I need to figure how to fix it. I have coolant there and I burped system few times. the hose doesn't seem to get warm at the same rate as filler neck. Almost like bad circulation in there. I can't tell for sure but it seems that it get's worm ether during driving on higher rpm (higher flow) or when engine bay get's hot alltogether.

From what I understand AWS is the one at fault for 3k rpm. Wax rod could be adjusted and does not affect it as much. In my case it makes car idle around 12-1300

It is normally set to disengage when coolant temps reach around 70C. At what temp does your idle drop to normal?

You can also somewhat change the temp at which it disengages by turning the screw further in (or is it out...).

The FAQ might have some more info on that. I know I saw it on fd3s.net.

Screw is all way in. Wax rod controls idle very little. I have good coolant temp (70+) because I read it on PFC

Is there still coolant running through your throttle body? If the coolant lines were rerouted to bypass the throttle body, it would cause your issue.
