I dont recall the exact temp, but they are scheduled to come on high about 10 seconds before the o-ring gets fried. Something like 108C.

zero is right... if you leave your parking lights on the fans will come online at 210f. if you choose not to turn your lights on 235f.

The fans come on between 221 & 226 degrees with no other electrical load on the car.

the STOCK fan thermoswitch turns the fans on at 220f. Installing the MIATA thermoswitch will turn them on at 208f. the PFC allows you to program any temp you like - many set it as low as 180f, but IMHO thats too low, 195-200f should be low enough.

Why do you think that's too low (180 ish).???

I keep mine at around 85-87 C with the PowerFC. I believe the thermostat opens at just around 85-86 C so that seemed to be a good measure. Also lookimng at other datalogit files, people seem to lower them even lower than that.

Just curious, I just figured the lowest temp at which the thermostat is open should be a nice cool temp.

i was under the impression that if you do turn the fans around 180f it will keep the ecu in the warm up mode therefore causing it to run very rich. But that's on the stock ecu, if you have power fc, i don't know then. I usually turn my fans on around 195-200 f

The stock ecu goes out of warm-up mode at about 170F.

David: I don't know, my car seems to run a bit better at 190-195 than 180F. Don't know why?

I have found that my car seems to make a little more power at 195-200 than it does at 180.

Because it's not necessary. It just creates excess wear on the fan motors and leads to excessively long warm-up times. In 100 degree heat, this maybe ok, but not in "normal" weather conditions. (Not all of us live in Dallas or Phoenix... )

Or just turn your AC on setting 2 or higher. That'll turn the fans on medium.

I always have my fans on while in city traffic, but never use the AC while on the highway. From what I understand, speeds of >60 mph you're gonna have more airflow coming in the front of the car than the fans can push out.

But then again I also live in 90-100 degree heat of Dallas...

That's true Cavellm, once you get into any kind of stop-and-go, the fans will have to run a great deal of the time to keep you at 190F (88C) or below.

On the highway, I have still found that turning on the A/C cools off the car faster (since the car usually heats up to 200-210 accelerating hard on the freeway).

The A/C won't be an issue in a few days when I have the fan temps changed on the PFC with the data-logit.

Well I live in Miami so having them on at least in stop and go traffic is a must.

AFAIK... the radiator fans draw fresh air INTO the engine bay, NOT out of the engine bay...

thats what i thought too but besides the other observations which i think are right remember, the fan is blowing hot *** air right at your IC and ic duct if you have a SMIC, that ain't not very good neither.

But they're pulling the air through the radiator, and spewing the hot air further back into the engine bay. Right on the IC

The air is already hot by the time it passes through the radiator, and just moves it further back.
