Warning: Ebay Scam

Check this link, sounded to good to be true. So I checked it out, wow that car sure lookes famillar. Turns out to be a guy I knows car, hes got 5 times the asking price in parts alone. I just called him, he was as suprised as me??

What can we do about this? There was another one on there just like this yesterday.

Let's see, 30,000 miles, Large SMIC, CF airbox, PFC, J&S knock sensor, 99+ front, Fikse wheels, etc for $6500.

That says scam all over it, at least they could have asked a little more for it.

Not a fan of the wheels really, however, nice car. And only 6500...I'll take two of them please.

Yes the car in that picture belongs to the owner of MzM performance in Austin Texas. I called him as soon as I saw it, like I said, he was as supprised as me.

BTW, he tried to sell the car a few months back but gave up because he couldn't get the 30k it's worth. Plus, the seller has only named what is easly visible, theres alot more to that car than was mentioned.

You don't have to be a fan. They're Fikse, they have enough fans already.

here is a tip for everyone that buys something from someone ONLINE...

CALL the seller before you buy. Usually you can pick up if someone is a CHEAT! If you can't talk to them in person, IT IS A SCAM!

DON'T send any money for anything without looking first.

When you do decide to buy... do it at a bank or some place that has a notary. hand the money over in front of the notary.

don't agree to pay for shipping to your location so you can inspect the vehicle. this is done all the time over seas where they say they will ship it in a container for you to review.

This is done with motorcycles, other cars, boats... pretty much anything expensive!

BASICALLY...

DON'T SEND ANY MONEY until you check out the product!!!!!!

I was corisponing with the guy to see what he would say. Claimed it was a present to his brother who dies in it a couple months ago. Said he, nor his mother could bare to look at it anymore.... He went on and on on how to send him the money.... I agreed to, ofcourse it was BS...... I trust no one overseas....

My cousin was SELLING a car (69 olds 442) on Ebay.

some person won the auction and wanted him to ship the car to his location for him to inspect.

the buyer sent a check and my cousin took it to the bank. The bank approved it but because it was the weekend, my cousin waited until MONDAY to actually ship the car.

Before monday came around, and after he spent some of the cash, the bank called him and said the check was a fake and they want their money back.

He is now in court fighting the bank but thank GOD he didn't send the car!

If you want to buy or sell something and can't it do it by setting it out in your yard or whatever, the internet is a good place to go!!!

the problem is that buyers/sellers are trying to sell it without even talking/meeting with the other party.

PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT... meet with the person you are buying/selling your item to!!!!!!!!
