Warning Alarm

Hey Guys,

I recently brought a Apexi Pod Filter Adaptor Kit and put it in today, All was running sweet untill I got onto the highway. I was traveling at a 100km then had a slow down then accel again, When I acceled again a buzzer/alarm noise came on and put louder as I put my foot down more, It then went away. It now comes back then goes away and random times. Ive checked all pipes, Water levels, oil levels and there all sweet.

I did notice on one of the pipes coming off the apexi adaptor it had a metal plug with a tiny hole in it for air, But looks like its ment to be there? Cant imagin it would get much air though it. Could it be the computer not being use to the new filters? or the filters being cloged?

Any help would be great!

Thanks
Hayden

Ok so I pulled the metal plug out that went to under the intake manifold and it didnt have a airhole in it, its just a plug to stop air. I pulled it out and took it for a drive. My god it makes alot of noise now! The noise is coming from the pod filter and sounds like a real air sucking gone bad noise. Any one no what it would be or had the same issue?

No warning lights came up only the buzzer noise.

Have found out what it was. The metal plug that was in the airpump pipe was completely blocking it when it was trying to blow air through it. Im guessing thats why the buzzer was going off.

I then removed the plug but then got the all famous "mooing" sound. I found a plastic cap, drilled 4 holes in it and it stoped it from mkaing that noise and no more warning buzzer.... so far.

So fingers crossed its all resolved

Cheers

Hayden

hmmm thats weird, the only buzzers that I know is the low coolant buzzer and the redline buzzer...check your coolant system - perhaps its got an air bubble in it.

Do both warning lights light up when you turn on the ignition

Yip both warning lights come up when turning the ign. But yet when the buzzer went off no lights came on It all seemed to tie in with the apexi filters I put on. It never made the noise before I put them on, Then it started when they were on and then when I pulled the metal plug out of the airpump hose it stopped the buzzer ... Bizzar..
Does the buzzer only go off for redline and water and oil? or can it go off for other things aswell?

id proberbly forget about it untill i heard it again, but if you do hear it again, make sure you look and see if the little "add coolant" light is on as well.

It woud be an easy mistake to hear the buzzer sound, but not notice that the little red "add coolant" light is on, as for example you could be watching the road at the time especially if it turned off quickly.
It could even be the coolant buzzer sounding but perhaps the little red add coolant light is broken so your only hearing the buzzer and not getting the light to go with it.

im pretty sure it must have been the coolant buzzer because like i said the only other buzzer is for redline..it would also explain the coming and going of your noise as the coolant buzzer sometimes sounding then turning off is a common symptom of air bubbles in the cooling system or a minor leak letting air into the system. check your coolant levels and make sure its full and stays full.
the coolant buzzer sounds for low coolant/air bubbles so your temp gauge could read normal temp even though you are low on coolant or have air bubbles.

does the add coolant light come on when keys are in but car not started?
that might tell you if it works or not, im not at my 7 atm to check but im pretty sure the oil light/ coolant light turns on when keys are in ignition with power on but car not started. might be able to check if the coolant light works that way
