Unhappy warm solenoid valve ....

I read in a thread when I was trying to solve my secondary transition problem, that sometimes the solenoid valve will not work when it gets hot from running the car for a while. Has this happened to anyone else? I fixed the problem for the transition(check valve for the vac chamber) when the engine is run for 20 min or so but then if I shut the car off for a bit then go back out, the car sounds stuffed in the exhaust(which it isn't) and just doesn't work the same. Could it be that or could it be more likely to be CRV getting stuck open? Can that happen? Thanks for any knowledge.

there is one of the solenoids that when it gets hot you get 10-5-5 boost pattern in first and second gear and normal boost in third. That solenoid is bolted on the ACV, very easy to see when you take manifold off. he usually goes bad because of all the heat that comes from lower intake manifold and acv.

Ya thats the valve I am talking about.... So it is common then or what? I get dropping boost in first gear only now.... starts at 10lbs the drops to about 3 or 4lbs then I have to shift, then back up to 10 it goes. I had it work good in first once and I want it to be fixed so it goes like that all he time...

it might be that solenoid, it could also be sticky TCA. That solenoid is common to go bad, but who knows.

Is there a way a guy can "unsticky" the TCA or is it replace only? Which problem is more likely? Thanks....

i'm not sure on that, but i would say that the solenoid is first to go. However, you might have other problems that isn't either one of them.
