VIS KS hood install
Well let me start this out by saying again what many others have said before.. this is not a simple bolt on job. I know from Damian hood install last year that he had to remove some material around the hood latch to make the hood go in correctly and i did as well.
At first inspection, the hood looks really good.. It arrived through shipping unscathed as it was well packed.
So on to the install....
Step one-
Remove old hood.. DUH (if you have problems with this step, stop reading now and smack yourself
)
Step Two-
You need to drill three holes on each side of the hood just above the headlights for the wind/rain deflectors from the old hood.
Step Three-
Next, you'll need to add the window squirters.. I had to remove some material from mine to get them to fit right and face in the appropraite direction.
Step Four-
Bolt new hood onto car with the help of a friend.. Make sure to leave the bolts a little loose for final fitment purposes.
Step Five-
Try and close hood to see how the gaps on each side are looking and make adjustments.. Tighten down bolts when you are happy with the fitment of the hood.
Step Six-
Curse VIS when you seee theres no way in hell the hood is going to close....
as they're too retarded to see that the stock hood has a rectangular opening around the hood latch. Soo....
... See the circled areas? these are going to make it impossible to close the hood
So, you'll need to dremel out the areas in the picture above.
Once you've removed the problem areas and the hood closes, you're home free.

cool thx for the heads up. this is probly the hood ill be getting sometime here. it looks pretty damn good. aside from that little bit a extra work, which isnt all that bad anyway, you liking it?

Might I suggest adding some heat shielding to the under side of the hood. I have seen a lot of CF hoods that seem to fade/bubble bad in the middle due to excessive heat.
A company called Thermo Tech sells this. I have seen it for sale in Jegs before.
