Well I didnt do it, thats not even my car. Then again we are discussing the VIS hood in here and not starting a debate on whether putting a twin turbo V8 into an RX7 is ethcal or not. Let's try to keep this area a little more civilized than the lounge.

Well I wasn't arguing just poking fun at the fact that the only picture you could find of a car with that hood happened to have a v8 under it lol All in good fun, to each his own, but neg. points for loving what makes an rx7 and rx7 is proposterous. Anyways back to the hood, I THINK it is sweet and i really want one. But is it worth the money?

Water doesn't hurt your motor in any way. If it does, you have problems. Plus you would be surprised at how much little water gets into those vents anyways.

I know that when driving hardly any water would enter, but it's sitting at redlights and such that would scare me.

I've owned a few cars with vented hoods and NEVER had a problem with water in my engine bay. A little water on the alt is not a problem at all. When stopped at most a few drops enter and the heat of the engine dries it up in seconds. I've even owned the same style of hood the thread starter bought.

I have the same hood, and have had it on for awhile now. I had to do the same thing with the latch it was kinda of annoying but not bad. It looks like it has some kind of half way predrilled holes for a rain trays if you made some you could make it work easily, but honestly I haven't had a problem with it so far lucky and have been caught in more then one rain storm. No hood pins yet, I know I should but just haven't gotten around to it, the hood doesn't really move much unless your going over 100 or so.
