Unhappy Vigourously Confused

So I am interested in a car and am getting some info when I get this reply to asking about any 5th gear synchro problems.....

"No problems shifting to 5th whatsoever. The shifter is smooth. If you currently drive or have driven a manual before, there aren't any surprises. The shift pattern is printed on the shifter. Reverse is to the far left and up."

Am I totally losing it or would I be right in saying reverse is normally under 5th. I guess I can't really contest cuz I've only had an AT FD before but I kind of feel like . Anyone wanna clear this up real quick.

on VW's you push down on the shifter and put it in the spot where first normally is.
