Whoever the absolute idiot was that decided to destroy about $4000.00 or more of useable, salvageable parts that could have been shipped to an owner who needed them... Frankly seeing blantant wastage like that makes me very angry.

These cars are rare now and they are difficult to find small parts for, now that they've been out of production for so long and Mazda is discontinuing part numbers every day for them at an alarming rate.

I wrecked a red 1995 RHD FD here in Australia. Before I crushed it, I made damned sure every single removeable part, nut, bolt, piece of plastic and anything that was not welded to the unibody was removed and saved. The only part that was crushed was the utterly bare accident-damaged unibody frame itself, and not one part more.

**I have been to Japan and I regularly (up til early 2012) bring back whole RHD FD's to wreck and store, to Australia. It IS financially viable, and not as "hopeless" as the people in Japan would have you believe. I have 13 and a half FDs sitting in a warehouse that say it is not a lost cause/easier to just destroy.

Really makes me upset to see people who have no regard for the inherent value of anything, and only destroy things for the "amusement/can't be bothered" factor. I would have gotten more personal enjoyment out of simply giving those parts away to an owner who needed them, before I just wantonly destroyed them because I couldn't figure out what to do with them myself.

Pretty shameful and if I were the owner of that car I would not be particularly proud of myself as a human being.

That's all I have to say.

You are out of line... Period.

Empathy, try it out.

Speaking as someone that goes WAY out of his way to conserve every rotary here...

Picture yourself in a country where you are paying outrageous amounts of money to for parking spaces ($100 a month each for mine in the city), registration fees, taxes, space in our houses to store stuff is 3-6X the price it is in most US/Aussie cities. A warehouse like you talk about is a crack pipe dream only available for the wealthy elite here. Space is very precious here. Then add in everything on the car looks ok on the surface but is Okinawa-rusted to the point where you would be a retard for putting it on your vehicle. Shipping prices on everything left on that car exceeded its value, we are not in Japan we are on a remote tropical island it is over $1000 to transport a immobile car to Tokyo from here. If you can get $4,000 in your pocket FROM HERE, I have 4 in that condition right now, wire me $12,000 for them if you are not full of crap.

Premium FD's and FD parts go for more here than they do in the US/Australia. Everything else gets this treatment. Breaks my heart to see it as well but math always wins in the end.

Yeah... well you're the idiot that took video of it, laughed while the car was getting desecrated, then posted that video up on an ENTHUSIAST forum expecting a positive response... You're a ******* moron for that and the onus of blame for any assumptions made is on you. YOU created the entire situation in this thread with your lack of foresight.

What next? An abortion video posted on a website for childless couples?

Forget the whole economics argument, it just doesn't wash. Look...we get it...you thought it would be 'funny' to post this, and you got owned.

It's not the end of the world, no kittens were harmed or anything like that, but it was an extremely insensitive and misplaced post. Pretty much the faux pas of the decade.

Lmao so many assumptions

I already said i laughed at the guy in the crane and not the car being smashed and i didnt post it expecting a positive response. I just posted it to share, i wasnt really expecting any type of response. I dont understand why youre sour. Youre level of anger is over 9000 and you should tone it back a bit so you can clearly think about your responses and not make so many assumptions and try to use them as facts.

=D

Jesus, you're an idiot kid...

There ARE people genuinely pissed about what you did and posted. I just think you're an idiot. Thats pretty typical though considering you're a junior guy, I come across young A1C's and Seamen almost daily that are the exact same way... so don't feel bad about it. Embrace the fact that you acted like a dumbass and move on. You keep making excuses instead of owning up to your stupidity.. THAT will **** me off more than any of your childish antics.

So keep on talking and convincing yourself that you're in the right, and EVERYBODY else commenting is out of touch your words will just keep on ringing hollow...

Damn that was depressing. Def don't agree with all the negative comments toward the OP tho. With the 25 year rule coming into play soon maybe it will be more economical for more of these cars to be parted out or saved outright.

Thanks for posting!

I don't get all the hating and interweb intimidation. I love my FD and think they are gorgeous! But, it is a car. There will always be bigger and better things than ours.

Less FD's make them an elitists game and I'll keep playing:-)
