Venting the OMP question.

I just wanted to know if anyone has either tangible input or experience with not using the OEM setup for OMP venting.

Right now with the setup on my single turbo there are no provisions for the OMP vent lines as I am using High Temp tubing rather than aluminum because of the size of filter I wanted to run.

So now I am presented with two options:

1- Running line from the injectors to a T that accepts a crankcase style filter such as a K&N 6780.

2- Blocking off the OMP completely. Which I do not really want to do because I don't like the hindrance of not being able to run without premix especially considering I have two trips planned DGRR and CC Meet which are very long distance for me which would force me to carry 1-2 gallons of premix oil in the car.

So me question is faced with this sort of situation what some knowledgeable advice would be. I think that if I tee the lines together the quantity of air flowing into the lines will be negligible if any so it is not really solving anything other than having filtered air rather than dirty engine bay air.

Any advice would be appreciated.

you can tap the intercooler piping and run it there, as long as it's before the throttle plate. from the factory the 2nd gen Turbo II's have a nipple on the UIM that runs to a passageway before the throttle plate. I have run as much as 21psi using this factory air source on an FC.

Now people here will tell you that sourcing air from between the compressor outlet and the throttle plate is going to mess something up. It won't though, and I know that because I've been doing it that factory way from day one... there are Turbo II's whose oil injectors have seen boost for 200k.
