vender for filler neck replacement

i'm looking for a replacement for the filler neck/thermostat housing that is just a hose fitting for the rubber hose without the radiator cap, sensors and such. I've seen pictures of them before, wondering if they are all done custom or its something you can buy.

could you make one with just a fitting for a standard radiator hose? I'd be very very interested in having it done

Panspeed makes one that replaces the thermostat/filler neck housing with an aluminum canister so you can get rid of the AST. I believe cost is $200.

Sure, I don't see why not. You want both an inlet and outlet to be a clamp-style rad hose fitting?

You realize you will need to make a custom alternator mounting bracket...

hmm, i think maybe i'm not describing what i want too well. It seems to me that the alternator bracket is on the waterpump housing, so what we'd be dealing with here is just the flange that covers the thermostat and a single rad hose fitting coming straight outward. So just that piece to replace the "faucet" part.

Ah, I see. I could make that too (a lot easier). I thought you were talking about replacing the entire water pump ***'y (for example, to use with an external electric water pump). Dumping that part doesn't seem that difficult. If you send me your existing thermostat housing so I can use it as a template, I can get one made for you. I'll have to work on a price. Anyone else interested in a part like this?

Does it still need to include the thermostat?

Yeah but i think the thermostat plops into the waterpump housing side, so as long as the new part has a flange that is the same as the old one it shouldn't be an issue. I'll PM you tomorrow or something and we can start talking about specifics.
